The Office of Institutional Research and Planning administers several major surveys on a regular basis in order to support top-level decision making at Ohio State.

Graduation Survey

The Graduation Survey is now open.

The most recent Graduation Survey reports can be found below. Please contact admin-irp@osu.edu for older Graduation Survey reports.

An email invitation to take the survey will be sent to all students graduating in each semester a few weeks before commencement. The survey will also be accessible at the following links:

Graduating undergraduate students can access the undergraduate survey online.
Graduating master's, doctoral and professional students can access the graduate/professional survey online.

About the Graduation Survey

The Graduation Survey is an Ohio State survey administered by the Office of Institutional Research and Planning on behalf of the university.

With this survey, graduating students have the opportunity to share valuable information regarding academic coursework, career services, debt and other areas important to the success of students. We encourage all graduating students to take the survey, as this valuable feedback from students helps inform decision-making throughout the university and enhance the experiences of future Buckeyes.

Who is invited to take the survey?

All graduating undergraduate, master's, doctoral and professional students are invited to take the survey.

What will you do with my responses?

We produce reports that are used by Academic Affairs, the Office of Institutional Research and Planning and academic colleges. The reports are used for both internal improvement purposes and external reporting purposes (e.g., National Association of Colleges and Employers reporting). Your responses will not be reported individually.

How do I access the survey?

If you are graduating, you will receive an email invitation to participate in the survey. Or you can access the survey at the links listed above.

What if I am graduating but do not receive an email invitation to take the survey?

If you do not see the email invitation, check your Ohio State Buckeyemail junk and clutter folders. If you forward your Buckeyemail emails to another email service, you will need to check your junk folder both in that email service and in the Buckeyemail system. Or you can access the survey at the links above. If you believe you should have received the survey and are unable to access it, please contact admin-irp@osu.edu

Ohio State Post-Graduation Survey

The Post-Graduation Survey is now closed.

Congratulations on graduating from The Ohio State University! Now that you have graduated, we would love to know more about your next steps.

We invite you to participate in the Ohio State Post-Graduation Survey, specifically designed for recently graduated alumni.

This survey aims to gather valuable information about your life after Ohio State and provide insights to enhance resources and services at the university. By sharing your experiences, you will contribute to improving the student journey for all current and future Buckeyes.

The survey is currently closed.

When filling out the survey, you will be prompted to enter your Ohio State email address. Use your name.#@osu.edu without "buckeyemail" in the email entry. If you have any questions or encounter any issues accessing the survey, please reach out to us at cssl@osu.edu. Additionally, keep in mind that a career services staff member may contact you regarding this survey. They are available to assist you and address any inquiries you may have.

National Survey of Student Engagement

The National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) has been administered at Ohio State on a three-year cycle since 2004. The data is used to identify aspects of the undergraduate experience that can be improved through changes in policies and practices.

2025 NSSE Survey

Ohio State is eager to learn about the student experience!

As part of the 2025 NSSE Survey, first-year students and seniors at Ohio State will receive an email invitation to complete the survey on March 24. The survey will remain open until April 21.

In appreciation for participating, all students who complete the survey will be entered into a drawing for an Amazon gift card worth $50*.
