Cindy Xinquan Jiang, Ph.D

Senior Research Associate

Cindy Xinquan Jiang is the Senior Research Associate in the Office of Institutional Research and Planning. In this role, she supports assessment and analytical initiatives related to global learning and engagement and leads the design and implementation of rigorous mixed-methods research projects. Her work focuses on assessment and program evaluation aimed at understanding the effectiveness of interventions that enhance student learning and success. She conducts analytical studies and provides evidence-based insights to inform planning, policy development, and decision-making in support of institutional effectiveness and operational excellence.

Her research encompasses a wide range of topics within global and intercultural learning, international education, and higher education. She specializes in areas such as intercultural knowledge and global competence, cross-cultural adaptation, international student success, internationalization of curriculum, high-impact experiential learning, and assessment of learning outcomes.

She holds a B.A. in Communication from Shanghai International Studies University, an M.A. in Interpersonal and Public Communication from Central Michigan University, and a Ph.D. in Higher Education from the University of Michigan. She is fluent in Chinese, Korean and English and also speaks Japanese.
